Buttonwood Bay, Peter Island is a wonderful place to anchor, snorkel and then have lunch. This Remote spot on Peter Island which is located on the western end of great harbour. This area is secluded and is great for overnight anchorage (moorings available). There is a large dinghy dock infront the restaurant. Not on a sailing vacation but

would love to snorkel here, no problem. The Lazy Iguana restaurant has two daily shuttle trip to this slice of paradise. The ferry leaves Prospect Reef Hotel which is less than 5 minutes from Road Town, Tortola. There are no road that connect the Peter Island Resort and Buttonwood Bay. This snorkeling site and Lazy Iguana restaurant is only accessible by boat. Apart from the restaurant at Buttonwood Bay, there are also hammocks to relax and watersports to enjoy. There are several ocean kayaks available for rental. Once you get to Buttonwood Bay, snorkelling begin about 20 yards offshore. This reef is decorated with purple sea fans and other corals. The area is great for novice and exports as the slope first starts at about 20 feet and then drop to a depth of about 40 feet. If you're looking for a snorkel or dive site with an abundance of marine life Buttonwood Bay is a great location among the many dive and snorkelling sites in the BVI. The undeveloped beauty of this anchorage offers pristine quietness.
