The Baths, Virgin Gorda, British Virgin Islands
(located in The Valley)
This is probably the most famous beach in the British Virgin Islands, but guess what, because no regular cruise ships go to the islands of Virgin Gorda the beach is almost never ever crowded. The Baths has ample parking and a dirt trail leads to the beach. Enormous boulders with nested sea pools, caves and white sandy beach area. The Boulders in many places seem to form many caves where at times there are little rays of light that peek in from above. This popularity is a great attraction on Virgin Gorda and as a result, it can become very crowded when the small cruise ships come calling. The best times are 8AM-10AM, and 3PM-5PM. Restrooms, Changing rooms, lockers and refreshments are available on the beach. A fabulous trail between and over the boulders leads between The Baths and Devil’s Bay – the white sandy beach adjacent to The Baths. The Trial is very fun especially for kids. Snorkeling adventures can be very great at the baths no boat required, just snorkel along the boulders over to the devil bay beach. If you decide to sail to the Baths or Devils Bay for the day be aware that LAWS OF THE BVI prevent you from anchorage. Instead BVI National Parks Trust moorings will have to be used. After this you can put on your mask and prepare yourself for a spectacular view of nature.
